First Haircut

Mia got her first haircut yesterday. I'm trying to let it grow out, but the back got so long, it started looking like a mullet. So, we took her to a stylist who trimmed the top and cut about an inch off the back (you can see the new cut in the third picture - so much better). I was a little nervous about how she'd react, but she did so well. She kept wiggling around trying to see the scissors, but there were no tears. Probably because we got to hold her the entire time. I kept a lock for her baby book, which is officially finished, now.

Sold!

Andrew and I (but mostly Andrew) built a second house in our neighborhood. We put it up for sale, as well as our personal house, and decided we'd move/stay in whichever one didn't sell. Turns out, the new house sold! Because of the awful housing market, we were very blessed to have closed on it last month. However, I couldn't help but be a little sad - it was a beautiful house with a screened-in porch that would have been great for Mia. Here are some pictures of it - with Andrew and Mia on the front porch (you can see them better if you double-click on the pictures).

Queen of the Court

Our house in Hilton Head had a lifesize chess board in the backyard. Mia entertained herself one morning playing queen of the court and eliminating all of the pawns and knights.
